Short Girl Guide: How to look taller

Being short often creates clothing challenges that are well-known to fashion aficionados who are a little more vertically endowed. Trends like cropped trousers, maxi dresses, and midi skirts are frequently displayed in front of shorter style enthusiasts as trends to be averted.

However, being short does not mean you cannot have great style and fashion sense when it comes to participating in an ongoing trend. All you have to have are confidence and knowledge on what styles flatter your particular frame.

You should understand your body shape and exact measurements. Your body type falls either in horizontal or vertical category. If you are under the horizontal category (pear, apple, or hourglass body shapes), wear open necklines to draw attention to face and neck.

For those who have vertical body shapes, try to balance your torso to leg ratio by wearing shorter tops and high-waisted skirts or trousers (for long torso and shorter legs); and tunics and low-rise jeans (for short-waisted).

You can also use platform heels in your skin tone to add extra inches to your height and create an elongated-legs effect. Wear them with a pair of boot cut, flat-front straight, or wide leg trousers that are floor-length.
